Welcome to the Couple’s Questionnaire!

Below you’ll find the second of two questionnaires.

The below questions will help me personalise your ceremony and give me a little more info about the two of you as a couple.

You should both fill this one out individually (no peeking, or you’ll ruin the surprises on the day!). If you prefer, feel free to copy and paste the questions into an email and send it back to me, so that you can mull over your answers for a little longer..

I also totally get that your entire relationship can’t really be captured in a few short generic questions, so if you don’t vibe with a question just leave it blank. Only share what you’re comfortable with, because anything you share in this questionnaire I’ll take as permission for me to use in the ceremony (unless you specifically request me not to). That said, though, the more helpful and detailed your answers are, the more personalised and lovely your ceremony can be!

Hate sitting at a computer and writing out your feelings? No probs! Just let me know, and I can ask you some Qs in person/on the phone instead.

It’s ideal that I get these answers back at least two weeks prior to your ceremony.

What does this marriage mean to you?

A few words to describe your partner:

What's your first memory of your partner? How and when did you meet?

PS - if you remember your first thoughts upon seeing them or talking to them for the first time, this is great stuff!

What are a few favourite memories/moments of your relationship, or a story you'd love to relive during your ceremony?

Eg. travel stories or places that took your breath away, moving in together, what it was like when you first started seeing each other, what it's been like planning this wedding together, a time you saw your partner out of their comfort zone.

If you had a proposal moment, tell me about it from your perspective.

What are a few of your favourite things about your partner? What do they do that always makes you laugh or smile?

Eg. How do they show their love to you, what's their/your love language, what's a thoughtful gesture they do, a habit or part of their personality that makes you proud/admirable, a signature dance move, something silly they do with the pet, something they'll often text you...

What habits/quirks does your partner have that you find ridiculous/inexplicable/infuriating/hilarious/endearing?

How are you similar to one another? What bonds you?

Eg. what activities do you like doing together, what show or band are you both super into, what do you always quote to each other, how are your personalities similar or complementary?

What are your strengths or values as a couple?

Eg. do you both really value time with your families, in nature, or caring for the planet? Do you value honesty and telling it like it is, or adventure and a sense of fun?

What are they way better at than you, and vice versa?

What do you hope your future with your partner holds?

Only answer this question if you've chosen to have personalised "I Dos" in your ceremony: What would you like your partner to promise you during the ceremony as they say their I dos?

This can be something cute n silly, eg. "Do you promise to always support Sarah through her lifelong fear of balloons?" or something a bit more serious, eg. "Will you always be there to offer them your wisdom when times get tough?"
